MRAMOR RESIDENTS ENDANGERED BY NEW LAND SLIDE AT `NEW LOCATION`

Thanks to the crediting of the Developmental Bank of Europe, that the Republic of Serbia got for the construction of the flats for social residence, after seven years finally will be solved the problem of the people living in Mramor village in Palilula. These people have had the landslide problems by local landslide location for years. It is expected that the government of the Republic of Serbia very soon will bring the conclusion that will provide 1700 social flats that will be built in Serbia as a part of the progamme of support to construction industry. According to the words of PhD Igor Novakovic, president of Palilula Municipality and Milos Simonovic, Mayor of Nis, after this conclusion of the Government, the City Council of Nis will according to urgent procedure bring the decision and City Housing Agency that is the carrier of the project construction of flats in our city will start the procedure for tendering and selection of contractors for the construction of 300 social housing in Nis.

Because of the landslide in Mramor, Palilula, that is only 8 km from the very centre of Nis, in the recent few years because of the landslide has been damaged or ruined more than 40 houses. Thanks to the crediting of European Bank for development, and thanks to the efforts of the authorities of Palilula municipality, City of Nis but also thanks to the decisiveness of the people living at the location the problem will be at last and complete be solved.

The families with the objects heavily damaged for the landslides and marked by construction inspection as dangerous, will get new homes. One part of 40 flats from this programme `flats for social living` is dedicated to the locals from Mramor.

According to the words of the head of administration of Palilula Municipality and City of Nis these flats will be at the boulevard Petar Arandjelovic in the settlement Ledena Stena which is communally equipped and the city provided necessary permits. At the surface of the half of hectare at the mentioned location will be constructed 237 flats, of approximate surfaces of 50 square meters.
